One of my favorite books is Strapless by Deborah Davis. She does such a wonderful job of making one understand the challenges of being a creative person at the end of the 19th Century. Last Saturday I had the best time discovering the John Singer Sargent paintings at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. I just love the way the people in his portraits seem so alive. This red velvet dress is mesmerizing. I've got to design something inspired by it some day....
Boston is such a truly inspiring city. When I was living in Morocco my friends from Montreal told me the best place to live in the US was Boston. Now I truly understand what they meant!
