Power dressing: Hearings for Judge Sotomayor

I'm taking a break from talking about the Paris trip to comment on the hearings for Judge Sotomayor. One of today's subject was so interesting - if gender and race influences judicial decisions. It just makes me wonder if previous candidates were asked the same type of questions...

I was hypnotized by the questions of that Republican from Alabama, Sen. Jeff Sessions, probably because he wouldn't stop talking so we could hear what HER position is) when suddenly I realized that Judge Sotomayor was wearing a red jacket, nicely tailored with square shoulders - softened with a bit of white blanket-stitched trim and a rounded shawl collar, but a "power jacket" none-the-less. Not fashion forward, but classic and distinct. Yesterday's bright blue jacket was also imposing, however red commonly gives a specific powerful message. I wonder if she is wearing pants or a skirt? Pants are typically considered more powerful in a masculine environment. With her broken ankle, maybe a skirt was easier, though.

Dress, defined as the choice of clothing or adornment, sends so many sublime messages....

What message did you project today, consciously or subconsciously?
